Emetophobia is an intense, irrational fear or anxiety of vomiting. This specific phobia can also include subcategories of what causes the anxiety including vomiting in public, fear of seeing vomit, or fear of seeing the action of vomiting. Emetophobia is the 5th most common phobia, but there has not been much research on it. Some people are scared of vomiting because it sometimes hurts, and they are scared of the pain. Especially when you have the dry heaves. Another reason they may be scared of throwing up is because they do not like the smell or the look of the vomit.

Acrophobia
Acrophobia is the fear of heights. It is one of the most common phobias. Being scared of heights is said to be a natural instinct of the body. The majority of people are nervous when they stand near a 100 foot cliff, but when you can't go to the second floor of a mall without freaking out, that is acrophobia. Acrophobia is connected to other phobias, such as the fear of flying. Things you can do to cure this phobia are to gradually exposing yourself to higher and higher heights while teaching them relaxation techniques that will enable them to keep a calm mind.

Mottephobia
Mottephobia is a major fear of moths. The large moths are usually the ones that frighten people. They scare people because they fly around your head a lot and buzz in your ear all the time. Some people fear that the moths will fly into your ear. This phobia could develop by bad experiences with moths, such as a nightmare when you were a kid, or being stuck in a small room with tons of them flying all around you. The fear of moths is uncommon, but there are people who have it. If you do have this phobia, you should keep the lights off in parts of your house so the moths are not attracted to the light. You may also considder therapy if you just can't seem to avoid the little bugs.
Lilapsophobia
Lilapsophobia is the fear of tornadoes or hurricanes. It is a more severe form of astrophobia, which is the fear of thunder and lightning. This phobia is somewhat common, although rarer than astrophobia. Some people have lilapsophobia because of previouse experiences with tornadoes or bad storms. Maybe they got hurt or a family member was injured durring the storm, or your house was destroyed. Some symptoms of lilapsophobia is constantly checking the weather or watching the weather channel to see if storms are coming. Another symptom of lilapsophobia is not going outside when there is a storm, and when a storm hits, you may display strange behavior.

Sternutaphobia
Some people have a fear of heights. Some have a fear of spiders. Sternutaphobia on the other hand is the fear of sneezing. It is an uncommon phobia to have, and it isn't likely that you would know anyone who has it. Some people have this phobia because they are afraid of some of the things said about sneezing, such as if you keep your eyes open while sneezing, your eyes will pop out. Some people are also afraid of sneezing while driving because they might fall into a ditch or crash into something. For most people, it is impossible to keep your eyes open while sneezing, but if you just keep the wheel straight, you'll be just fine and you won't have to worry about crashing your car. As for the eyes popping out of your head when you sneeze, that isn't true. There have been some people who can sneeze with thier eyes open, and it doesnt cause them to pop out of your head!
